Preparing to start installing wire for the panel. Pre is to have all points on the airplane, that have to have wire run to the panel, installed. The AOA indicator, or Angle of Attack, is an indicator that will be mounted on the glare shield. It monitors angle of attack of the wings and warns if the critical angle is approached. Critical angle is where the wing angle is at a stall. The AOA computer needs to know when the flaps are extended and reach 30 percent. This requires installing a micro switch on the flap system so that when 30 percent is reached the switch activates, and you will hear in the headset...flaps. This means the AOA will now use conservative software and inputs to computer the critical angle. All military aircraft fly approaches solely with AOA and not airspeed.
